WITH SO MANY CHOICES, WHICH ONE DO YOU CHOSE?
I ALWAYS TELL MY STUDENTS THAT YOU NEED TO USE WHATEVER SHOULDER REST MAKES YOU THE MOST COMFORTABLE; THE BODY SHOULD REMAIN AS NATURAL AS POSSIBLE WHEN PLAYING. SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY VARIETIES AND EVERYONE'S BODY AND INSTRUMENT IS DIFFERENT, IT IS BEST TO TRY OUT AS MANY TYPES OF SHOULDER RESTS AS YOU CAN BEFORE BUYING ONE.
(MAKE SURE TO ALWAYS TRY OUT SHOULDER RESTS USING YOUR OWN VIOLIN!)

"During our research we found a clear connection between problems in playing technique and ill-fitting equipment. Combining store-bought and specially designed equipment to fit the body type and playing style of each student improved comfort and technique. Musicians were trained in how to use the equipment and to alter it, or to get it altered, to fit their bodies." (http://www.violinistinbalance.nl/conclusions.htm)
