MY IMMORTAL

"My Immortal" is a song by the

American rock band Evanescence

It was released on December 8, 2003 as the third single from their debut studio album Fallen. The lyrics and the piano for this song were written by former
guitarist and co-founder Ben Moody, with the exception of the bridge, which
was later added by Amy Lee, and it was produced by Dave Fortman It was one
of Evanescence's first songs, and was supposed to be on their first EP, but they
decided to remove it as a last minute change).  The song is set in common time and performed in slow and free tempo of 80 beats per minute. Lee's vocal
range for the song runs from the musical note of A3 to C5. The lyrics of the
song refer to a spirit that haunts the memory of a grieving loved one.


Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in
1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. After recording private albums, the band released their first full-length album, Fallen,
on Wind-up Records in 2003.
