OBJECTIVE: BUILDING VIOLIN TECHNIQUE THROUGH ROTE-MEMORY SONGS
1. TUNE
2. Explained and demonstrated "Hoedown" music
.....a It is a 4 section piece arranged in this order:
Introduction/ Section A 2x / Section B 2x / Section A 2x / Coda )
.....b. Taught section 4 (CODA) today
.........1)Used a lowered 1st finger (at the "nut")
.........2)Reviewed fingers in half and whole step patterns (in this song section the 3rd finger touches the 2nd finger)
3. SONG TWINKLE
.....a. There are 3 sections in the song and we worked on the first 2 and started to connect them together

ADVANCED VIOLIN PERIOD 4
OBJECTIVE: RHYTHM READING and NOTE READING ON "E" and "A" STRING

1. TUNE
2. Passed out new music: "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"
.....a. Listened to music as teacher pointed to notes
.....b. Looked over rhythms in piece and learned how to count using the practice of "sub-dividing the beat"
..........1)Subdivision is when
.....c. Looked over music and circled green colors around notes that fell on the "E" string and yellow on the "A"
.....d. During homeroom we tried to sight read through the piece

TOMORROW: We will be going over fingering and names of notes and look over the harmony parts
