STUDENT PARAGRAPHS: WHAT IS A MUSICAL #1

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is a Musical?
I think a musical is a story displayed by music, singing, dancing, and acting. The music helps to set the mood of the story. For example, slow, dark music could demonstrate a sad part of plot. There are also actors; they perform the story by talking, singing, and dancing. A lot of people might think the actors are most important, but I don’t think so. Yes, they are extremely important, but so is the rest of the crew. The stage crew helps with props and such. Of course, the actors couldn’t perform very well without the director and choreographers. Looks are also important, for example, a princess shouldn’t seem like she just woke up. Hair stylists, make up, and costume designers help with the attire of the characters. The entire musical wouldn’t even be a musical without writers, lyricists, and composers. You can’t forget the musicians; they play the music in the orchestra pit. Also in the orchestra pit is the conductor. He guides the orchestra and the singers to go together in perfect harmony. This would all go to waste without the producer, who sponsor's the entire thing. Musicals take time, work, and dedication. If any one of these members aren’t present, the musical just wouldn’t be the same.
