WINTER CONCERT REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

Thursday, December 2:

Period 4 Violin Class:1. Normal rehearsal in room 43 classroom today

Homeroom Violin Group:1. Normal rehearsal in room 43 classroom today

Period 5 Violin Class:
1. Normal rehearsal in room 43 classroom today

Friday, December 3:

Period 4 Violin Class:1. Rehearse in cafeteria during period 4 but not Homeroom today (violins belonging to 5th period violin students who are also in the Violin Homeroom are to remain In room 43 as they will need them for class 5th period)
2. At the start of period 4 all students to meet in room 43
3. Backpacks will remain in the locked music room for all students
4. Students will move equipment/stands/instruments into the cafeteria:
a. Keith takes his violin and helps Dakota with his equipment
b. John takes his violin and helps Jonah with his equipment
c. Linda takes her violin, helps me with the music cart and distributes the music folders
d. Felicia takes her violin and Lauren’s
e. Anthony takes his violin and Alex’s
f. Fabian takes his violin and Clark’s
g. Zaxit takes his violin and Ruth’s
h. Shawn, Dennis, Cohen take their own violins and help set-up music stands
i. Paul takes his cello
5. Students will rehearse in the cafeteria until about 10 minutes before homeroom
6. Due to “Freedom Friday” schedule we cannot rehearse in the cafeteria during homeroom
7. Students will pack up their instruments to store in the cafeteria (not brought back to room 43), place the music stands and chairs to the side of the cafeteria (the room is going to be used during lunch and the equipment needs to be out of the way)
8. My music cart and the music folders (collected by Linda) need to be brought back to room 43
9. We will return to room 43 to meet with the other homeroom people, pick-up backpacks, and then wait for dismissal for Freedom Friday

Homeroom Violin Group:1. No rehearsal in cafeteria during homeroom
2. Report directly to room 43
3. Dismissal for Freedom Friday

Period 5 Violin Class:1. Normal rehearsal in room 43 classroom today
2. About 10 minutes before the end of class students need to pack their violins up and bring them to the cafeteria in
preparation for Monday’s rehearsal in the cafeteria

Monday, December 6:

DURING 1ST PERIOD I WILL BRING THE MUSIC FOLDERS AND THE CART TO THE
CAFETERIA

Period 4 Violin Class:1. Rehearse in cafeteria during periods 4 and 5
2. At the start of period 4 all students to report directly to the cafeteria not room 43 (equipment and instruments should already be in there)
3. Students will rehearse (with 5th period and violin homeroom students both periods)
4. Students to be excused from regular classes 5th and 6th period today for rehearsal
5. Teachers will have been given a list of all students excused from their classes in order to participate at this rehearsal 6. After the rehearsal, instruments will be put away in their cases but stored in the cafeteria for tomorrow’s 4th period and homeroom rehearsal.

Wednesday, December 8:

Period 4 Violin Class:1. Rehearse in cafeteria
2. All students are to report directly to the cafeteria (not room 43)
3. Violins and other performance gear should already be in the cafeteria
4. We will rehearse as needed
5. When finished all instruments to be stored in cafeteria for tomorrow

Homeroom Violin Group:1. Rehearse in cafeteria
2. All students are to report directly to the cafeteria (not room 43)
3. Violins and other performance gear should already be in the cafeteria
4. We will rehearse as needed
5. When finished period 5 students will bring their violins back to class and all the others will leave their violins stored in the cafeteria

Period 5 Violin Class:1. Regular class rehearsal today in room 43
2. Students to report to class and then pick-up violins (if needed) from the cafeteria to bring to class for practicing
3. We will rehearse parts as needed in room 43
4. Students will bring their violins back to the cafeteria at about the last 10 minutes of class in preparation for the concert tomorrow morning

2. We will play 3 assemblies for the school
3. Students will be excused from periods 1 and 2 (teachers will have been given a list of all students excused from their classes in order to participate at this concert)
4. There will be a special school assembly schedule for that day and all students will attend their classes for all the other periods (3rd through 6th)
5. Instruments are to be left in cases by the chairs so I can pre-tune them before the performance

ALL GENERAL MUSIC STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO PERFORM

TIME: 5:20-5:40 PM

WE WILL MEET AND PERFORM ON GRANADA'S OUTSIDE STAGE

WEAR APPROPRIATE CLOTHES FOR THE WEATHER

BRING RECORDER/MUSIC WILL PROVIDED

Attendance at this concert is not mandatory for my general music students. Non-attendance at this event will not effect any student's grade.

DRESS REHEARSAL:

TUESDAY, December 7, 2010

6th Period 12:32-1:15

WE WILL MEET IN THE CAFETERIA

Period 4: We will meet at the normal class time in room 43, pick-up instruments and go to the cafeteria to rehearse. After class everyone will leave their instruments in the cafeteria by their seats in order to be ready for the dress rehearsal 6th period.

Period 5: We will meet at the normal class time in room 43, pick-up instruments and go to the cafeteria to rehearse. After class everyone will stay in their seats and wait for the period 4 class to arrive so we can start the dress rehearsal with both classes playing together.


After the dress rehearsal 6th period, all students will bring their instruments back to room 43.


*****Please remember*****

Students excused from period 6 to participate in the dress rehearsal still need to make-up all missing work from the class they missed that day.

Winter Concert 2010

Evening Concert for the parents and family:
to start at 6:00 PM with a call time for tuning and warm-up at 5:15 PM
