WHAT WE DID TODAY 2011-2012: SEMESTER #1 THURSDAY; SEPTEMBER 15, 2011

GENERAL MUSIC:
PRE-LESSON ACTIVITY: finish off musical alphabet word list then work on worksheets piano and keyboard review (a reinforcement what we are doing on the actual keyboards)
Went to keyboards to practice America/Yankee Doodle and then move on to other songs in the packet.

Need to choose a song to play for a mini-recital we will be performing for each other in class...date to be announced

PERIOD 4:
WORKED ON SALLY'S SONG/HASTE TO THE WEDDING

PERIOD 5:
LEFT PIZZICATO OPEN STRING NOTE READING: SONG "BATMAN"
look at music with colored notes on the chart(one color for each open string/identify which colors
are the highest/lowest/second highest/second lowest and compare to the strings the instrument
Which color represents the E-String (green)
Which color represents the A-String (yellow)
Which color represents the D-String (red)
Which color represents the G-String (blue)
Music road signs explained
Students read the notes out loud as teacher points (helps students learn to track)
Students read the notes out loud as teacher points with music accompaniment
Students read the notes out loud and pizzicato the appropriate strings as teacher points with music accompaniment
